» California Alliance for Inclusive Schooling

CAIS logoThe California Alliance for Inclusive Schooling (CAIS) is an intersegmental group of professionals dedicated to the development of inclusive schools for all students. Our mission is to support, unify and promote efforts to increase inclusive schooling in California. The Alliance focuses on practice in schools, policy for state recommendations, and preparation of school professionals and is comprised of three working groups: Practice, Policy, and Preparation.

The California Alliance for Inclusive Schooling committee meets formally three times per year; at the California Council on Teacher Education (CCTE) conferences in San Diego (Preparation), the SPAN Conference in Sacramento (Policy) and the CA-MTSS Conference in Anaheim (Practice). Inclusive Leadership Subcommittee

The CAIS Inclusive Leadership Subcommittee believes that in order to fully realize equity, access, inclusion, and the intersectionality of students with disabilities in our schools, we must empower and support school and district leaders in how to create and sustain inclusive school environments where each and every student, family and staff feel a deep sense of belonging; and each educator and school staff member possesses the skills and supports necessary to teach all learners.
